the last morning of 2009

Surprisingly, I woke up at 9 something for the past two days (right after I complained that I woke up way too early for the past few days). I was quite shocked to realise that it was almost 10 when I looked my clock. Maybe I should thank my housemate for not making any noise early in the morning. =P I did wake up at about 7.30am but I slept back since there's nothing to do if I were to get up so early. I slept for more than 8 hours for the last two nights. Haha! Nowadays, I always go to bed at about 12.30am. Why? Just in case I wake up too early the next day, I still have 7 hours of sleep. Smart. It's good to sleep early. Better for your body. Last year when I was in Miri, I went to bed before midnight because there was nothing to do and nobody to chat with. Why is my life always so boring and dead? No idea.

It's 31st of December 2009. The last day of 2009. Malaysians will go for some countdown event while Australians will probably welcome 2010 by clubbing. Their life is all about drinking and clubbing. I would watch the countdown in Taiwan on TVBS every 31st December back at home but this year is gonna be slightly different as I'm not in Malaysia (so I don't have access to TVBS). My mom will usually cook a sumptuous dinner today and then we'll have supper from the leftovers while watching the show. This year, I'll just have pizzas at home and welcome 2010 by chatting with my friends. Haha!

Time to reflect what I've done for the past 365 days in 2009. I don't really know what to reflect on as reflection is not really my thing. Perhaps my studies? I didn't pass with flying colours (but I did pass with credits) solely because I didn't put much effort in my studies. Fair enough. No pain, no gain. I am a procrastinator and I think I'm gonna continue being one forever? I hope not. I shall make it one of my new year's resolutions then. Hehe. What else? What else? Hmm. This is like asking me to crap out some stuff just to answer the question in exam. >.< Let's start with the beginning of the semester. I got a very shocking news that was least expected but everyone around seemed to know about it before me. I hate this kinda feeling. Hate being the last to be informed but shit happens. You can't expect anyone to tell you everything that happens. You just have to move on, girl. No point of looking back and reminding yourself of the wound left behind. Why do you choose to rub salt into the wound when you can actually leave it there and move forward? The scar is always gonna be there just to remind you not to repeat the same mistake again. You'll eventually ignore the scar when it's time. Patience is all you need. =) I shall move on to my winter break. It was really fun to travel around Australia with my friends. Enjoyed the time we had together. That's gonna be my last winter break as I'll be very busy next year. No holidays for me. Next is my birthday. It was a GRAND celebration, I must say. Well, at least for me. Full of surprises. My birthday celebration gets merrier year by year. Thanks to all my besties. Love you all!!! I'm so blessed to have friends like you. Once again, thank you very much! What's next? Oh.. Spring. Spring is a season of love this year. So many new couples started their relationship this time of the year. All the best to you guys. Remember to invite me to your wedding in the future. =) Ok. Let's skip to summer break now. Friends from Adelaide came to visit this year. Chien Yen, Chui Shin, Sze Shen, Adeline and Weina. Hopefully, they had fun in Perth (a boring place). Before they came, I'd been trying to look for a job in a pharmacy but gave up in the end. Those two interviews that I went for were not fruitful. Sad, I must say. But I couldn't do much about it. If I know that I couldn't get a job, I would've booked an earlier flight back to my home sweet home. I'm still going back on 11th January. Sigh~ Being alone in Perth is frustrating. I guess I'll spend my time walking around Perth and take some pictures? Shall see how it goes. Now, it's time for new year's resolution. I don't usually think about it because I just live my life as it goes. Perhaps, study smarter and harder so that I can graduate? Lose some fat by controlling my diet and exercising more? Spend less money on clothes, shoes, accessories since I'm jobless? Complain less as I need to learn to be more grateful? The list goes on and on. I guess that's about it. New year is the time to celebrate a new beginning, a time to wish all your friends and loved ones a happy new year. I wanna wish everyone a double dose of health and happiness topped with loads of good fortune. Let's say goodbye to 2009 (the grudges, sadness, pain, fear and regrets) and welcome 2010 together. =)

Wish I could watch this tonight.

ohaiyo gozaimasu~

Look at the clock. It's only 8.48am now and I'm wide awake. I actually woke up about an hour ago to switch the air-conditioner off. I think it was switched on by someone at 4am or 5am and I have no idea who did that. I was struggling between waking up or not because I know that once I leave my bed, I wouldn't be able to sleep again even if I only slept for few hours (unless I'm VERY tired). In the end, I still forced myself to get up as it was way too cold for me to stay in bed. So, here I am, blogging but I don't have anything to blog about. Can anyone tell me what I should do now? I hate waking up early and do nothing for the day. I've been waking up early ever since I've moved here. Sometimes it's the cars on the main road, sometimes it's the sunlight. I miss Vickery's dark blue curtain. It keeps my room dark at all times. =P

2 more hours to go before Bel comes. I'm watching Avatar today. Everyone says that it's AWESOME. I wasn't really interested after watching the trailer but shall just give it a try since everyone is watching. Tata~

christmas + boxing day

Had a simple christmas dinner with Yi Tyeng and Hsiu Li. The dinner didn't look grand but it was really VERY satisfying. I was bloated after stuffing so much food into my stomach. I could hardly move. Really enjoyed the night talking, stalking and laughing. =)

Baked pasta

Roasted chicken

Vege

Dessert made by Hsiu Li

White wine sponsored by me

Just the 3 of us

That's how I spent my Christmas night. YT and I cleaned the bathroom and living room after coming abck from Vickery with some stuff. How tiring. Boxing Day is another tiring day. I didn't buy anything at all for myself. Everyone tells me that there's a lot to buy on Boxing Day. One can spend more than hundred dollars in a day. I thought I would but I didn't, which is kind of surprising. What to do? The clothes that I like or want were all in BIG sizes. How sad! All I did were walking and trying to find something to try and buy. Not a fruitful day indeed. Well, to be honest, I don't need perfumes, cosmetics, etc as I have already a lot of them. It's good to save some $$$ sometimes. Hehe. Ohhh I bumped into Queena again. For the 3rd time since our summer break started. Such a coincidence. I've never bumped into the other coursemates of mine which I think is weird. I mean, Perth is so small. Really small. We could possibly bump into anyone, anytime, anywhere. Ahh.. whatever.

Anyway, I slept all the way back to my house. This proved that I was tired although I didn't feel physically tired. I'm fine with all this walking and window shopping because I'm used to walking for hours just to shop. I love window shopping. I love it more if I get to buy stuff that I love. We came home and had prawn noodle for dinner. We then had this apple berry crumble pie that I bought last winter. >.<>

p/s: My dear housemate forgot to unlock the bathroom door again. We had to brush our teeth and wash our face outside again. I really hope she'll not repeat this anymore.

new is the word

We've moved to our new house. Moving stuff was really tiring. Thanks to Wan Ling and Jaclyn who offered a helping hand. We went to Yi Tyeng's aunt's house to return her TV and she asked us to stay for dinner. We had duck for dinner. Yummy~ We then came home (our new home) and started to clean our rooms. I didn't really clean my window part yet because I was just too exhausted. Yi Tyeng really did a great job. I think her room is VERY clean now. =P I shall continue cleanign today after getting some cleaning stuff from Carousel.

I'm not really used to my new house yet. A total new environment. A new housemate who works everyday. We hardly even see her. I heard her leaving for work this morning. I set my alarm at 9.35am but I woke up at 8.25am. I only slept for about 6 hours. I used to sleep for more than 8 hours in Vickery. Why? Because it's a bit noisy here. I can hear cars passing by every second. Blame the location of my house. It's just beside the main road. I'll just bear with it for a year. Plus, I'm sleeping facing the window and the curtain is not dark blue like Vickery's. So, I don't think I can sleep in till very late. Ohhh. Guess what? I think my new housemate locked the bathroom door from the other side (we shared the bathroom) and now I can't even wash up and prepare to go out. >.<

Missing Vickery. Missing it's BIG shelves, BIG wardrobe, drawers, etc. But I do not miss the sprinkler there at all. Hmph! Anyway, I shall slowly adapt myself to this new environment. I'm an adaptable person. =) I'm so gonna to get a fan later. I'm gonna turn into a BBQ pork if I don't get one soon.

pindah rumah

This is gonna be my very last post from Vickery House. I'm moving today. Packing is tiring. Cleaning up the house is another difficult task. I took my sweet time since I have so much time to waste. Do drop by my house if you're free. =) Tata~

Gonna suffer some muscle pain tomorrow because I'll be carrying my stuff which weighed 38471829037 kg to and from the car. >.<

I like the feeling when people offer help without me asking for one. Thank you. =)

2012

Just came back and had a late shower after watching 2012. It took approximately 30 minutes for the movie to start. Thanks to those advertisements and movie trailers. There are parts that I couldn't understand and parts that I find touching. All in all, it's a great movie. Will the world end in 2012? We shall see.

I woke up this morning and looked out my window. It was kinda hazy and the surrounding was kinda like orange in colour. Then, I went to uni with Yi Tyeng to use the free internet. To watch my drama, of course. I even used Yijia's quota. =P I wonder when will I finish watching "A Cup of Love". I just finished with episode 9 today. 6 more to go. Perhaps I'll continue when I get back to Miri where I have unlimited quota. The sky cleared up when we walked back home for lunch. We bumped into Queena and had a short chat with her. After my lunch, I started to pack my stuff. Well, I wasn't actually packing. Just rearranging my notes. My first, second and third year notes were all in a pile. I'm very unorganised, I must say. My habit is to dump my notes on my shelves right after exams and pack them into a box (when I need to move) without rearranging them. It took me the whole afternoon to rearrange them. I shall blame myself for not being an organised girl from the beginning of my pharmacy degree. Sad case.

Oh, my mom actually told me that I'm in the waiting list now. To get an earlier flight to go back to my home sweet home. Apparently, I can't choose whatever date I want just because my ticket was bought with a lower price (student fare). I REALLY WANNA GO HOME EARLIER!!! You can call me the desperate girl now. I don't mind because I just wanna go home now.

it starts with s and ends with n

I've been feeding my tummy with heaps of food since the beginning of summer break. I thought I would be able to get a job in a pharmacy to gain some experience before my rotations next year. Sad to say that I'm still jobless and I gave up looking for one. There goes my summer break. I have to spend a few more weeks in Perth because I can't change my ticket back to Miri. Sad. I really hope to go home as early as possible because it's pointless to stay here since there's nothing that I can do in Perth. And I have to stay until 11th Jan. It's really a torture!!! Everyone's leaving, one by one. Those who are left in Perth would be those who have jobs in pharmacies. My life is gonna be so so so so so boring. =( Plus, I would have moved to my new house by then. My new housemate looks quiet and I think she works as well. Hence, I'm gonna be alone in the house most of the time. I could even feel the sien-ness in the air now. So, Aunty Lucy!!!!! Please help me to get early flight!!!!!!!

all about baking...

The weather is getting hotter and hotter now. So, I've been staying at home these few days. And that's when the baking mood kicks in.

It might not look appealing to you. However, don't you feel happy or satisfied after eating the food made from scratch by yourself? =)

I shall try to find another recipe to make a better fruit cake next time.

We just baked this tonight. The texture is similar to whe ones I had during Chinese New Year but the appearance is not that good. Some are a bit burnt. I shall try to make it again in Miri.

A mug of ice-cream a day keeps you happy all day long. :P

(。◕‿◕。)

Result is out!!! And I passed!!!! =) Although I didn't pass with flying colours, I know that I should be satisfied with my results. 6 is always better than 5. So, be grateful, Ling Weng. Plus, you didn't even finished your final exam papers. >.< So, what do you expect?? An 8??? No way man!!!

Had a gathering with a bunch of friends from Adelaide. We went to Northbridge and had dim sum for lunch. They like those dim sum served in Dim Sim Cafe. Then, we stopped by Emma's to get some stuff for dinner. They bought some apple strudels back to Malaysia. I'm gonna get one as well. Hehe. We walked around the city while waiting for Wee Lee to come from airport. He had to take a bus from the airport to the city. Poor thing. Luckily, his luggage was VERY light. I mean VERY VERY light. I've never travelled with such a light luggage before. Lol.

The cooking began at around 7 pm and we started to have our dinner at about 9.30 pm. Lol. Everyone contributed a little tonight. I love the food. I love the people. I love the laughter. I love the dessert. I love everything that happened today. People from Adelaide really make this summer a more interesting one. =) They made our trip to Adelaide a memorable one as well when we went there for winter holidays. They just have the power to make our days a special one, especially Chui Shin. Life is gonna be so different with her around. I really enjoyed myself these few days. Thanks to friends from Adelaide. It's sad to know that we won't be meeting each other anymore. Guess we'll just keep updated via Facebook. That's what stalkers like me always do. =P

To Chui Shin, Sze Shen, Adeline, Weina, and Wee Lee. Have a safe journey back to Malaysia. =)

Margaret River

I went for a road trip to Margaret River last Thursday with Yijia, Chui Shin, Sze Shen and Wei Xiang. Two days + one night. Now, let the pictures tell the story with me adding some captions to each of them. =)

We had breakfast in Vic Park before starting our journey.
Big breakfast shared with Yijia.

We saw a special car plate on our way to Margaret River.
"B ENVIOUS"

We thought that this is the place where they make ice-cream but they only sell ice-cream. We saw this signboard before buying our 2 scoops of ice-cream.

=)

I ♥ this picture

Chui Shin and Sze Shen

I ♥ this picture too.

An art or something?

just ♥ this view

this as well =)

We took this picture while waiting for the rest to get back.

yea. camwhore is what we did.

Our dinner at Augusta Hotel. Yum~

when two hearts come together

We stopped by and took some pictures when we were on our way to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse.

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

Someone was pondering about something.

A tour around Jewel Cave

Yijia fell down and injured her knee after the tour. Not in the cave though.

Next stop. Beach again. Wheee~

Posing time.

Awww~ What a sweet couple!

Looks like a camwhore picture but it's not.

ahhhh~ ♥ this.......

and this.....

Visited a few wineries and this is one of them.

Another winery, The Voyager. Beautiful isn't it??

♥ it....

Our dinner at Dae Jang Kum

We didn't get to finish this. So, they brought it home and I have no idea how they eat it at home.

We then brought Chui Shin and the rest to try out our favourite bubble tea. Easy Way. =) Then, we sat on the grass to watch the movie screened in Northbridge. Yijia was really excited because Keanu Reeves was in that movie. She proclaimed that he is one of her husbands. After spending some time there, we went home. I reached home at 11-ish. Was really tired but I had to drag myself to the shower. Thanks to the smelly korean BBQ but I still had to bath after a long, tiring day.

chocolate macaroons

We made chocolate macaroons today. I'm not quite sure if it's a successful one. We just followed the recipe which I'd found on the net. I don't think I will consider making them again because all you eat is dessicated coconut. Lol. I shall search for recipes to make some cookies. =)
