Trip to Rottnest Island (15-03-2008)

Last Saturday, three Curtin's second year's pharmacy students from Unit 5 [Michelle, Yi Tyeng, Ling Weng] joined a trip to Rottnest Island organised by VH. I think that was my best Saturday ever since I came back to Perth.

We gathered in front of VH prior to our departure

I started to camwhore with Yi Tyeng in the bus since we had nothing to do

Took a picture before getting onto the ferry to Rottnest Island in Fremantle

Didn't get the chance to take a picture of us here [coz there were too many people waiting for their turns]

Nice photo [taken by Michelle]

Taken by courtesy of a Japanese guy [arigato]

Three of us with our bikes [Michelle brought her own bike]

The map that we can count on [very useful]

The Basin [blue blue sea]

Took a photo together before leaving The Basin

Like the scenery here

Our lunch at a cafe near Geordie Bay [cost us about AUD 10 each]

The cute animal that you can find in the island [quokka]

It was scorching H-O-T on that day [sweat]

Forgot the name of this bay =s

Me at Stark Bay

Three of us in the cool water [super 'song']

my Nike shoes got so dirty due to the sand

We didn't have sufficient time to explore the whole island. We only managed to cycle around half of the island. So, I think I'll find a time to explore the island again. I love cycling so much. I was so happy that I could cycle around the island for the whole day although it was kinda energy-consuming [especially when you need to cycle up the hill]. I think I turned into a small little girl when I started to cycle. It was really my happiest Saturday ever.

We were a bit tired on our way back to the ferry. Yi Tyeng and I nearly missed the ferry back to Fremantle because we had to wait for the kinda-long-queue to return the bikes. Luckily, Michelle booked two seats for us. =)

Rottnest Island is highly recommended for everyone in Perth. It's a great place where you won't be smothered by any stress or sadness at all. Free from stress!!!! Isn't that great?? I felt so happy, excited and hyperactive after the trip. Hehe. Don't believe me?? You can ask either Michelle of Yi Tyeng. So, people!!!! Plan a trip to Rottnest Island and get ready for a trip that you'll never ever regret. Trust me......

98 Degrees - Always You and I

Oh, oh, girl…
It’s so hard to say
How a love could end this way
The one that used to care for you
Just turns and walks away
And it’s so hard to find
To leave the pain behind
When all the things you’re looking for
Your heart can’t seem to find

chorus:
I’ll be the air that you breathe
I’ll give the strength that you need
I’ll be the light in your eyes
When hope becomes hard to see
I’ll be your shining star
To guide you wherever you are
And I promise that I’ll be by your side
Always you and I

No, you’re not alone
Without a love to call your own
‘Cause I’ll always be right there for you
To help you carry on
A heart that’s always true
Girl, I’m giving mine to you
And everything you’ll ever need
I promise I will do

(chorus)

Girl, you know I’ll stay beside
I will be right there for you
With a hand to hold
A heart to see you through
‘Cause each and every night
I will make you right
When life feels so wrong
‘Cause in my arms is where you belong

(chorus)

oh… oh, girl…
oh wo wo, always you and I

I don't know why I always do stupid / embarrassing stuff in Chemistry lab. That happened several time in my first year. Embarrassing stuff happened again in my second year. Sigh!

Was supposed to transfer the aspirin into an oven which is at about 60ºc. Tried to figure out where the oven is located in Room 114.

I thought this is the oven but it showed 27ºc instead of 60ºc. Yijia was holding the aspirin in the aluminium dish while I was trying my very best to open the cover. Couldn't open it at all until.....
Rodney (our coursemate) suddenly came into the room (looked at us for a while) and walked towards.....

..... this. He opened the door and took out his aspirin from this OVEN. So this is the oven that we were looking for. It was so embarrassing. Kinda stupid too because the room is so small and both of us couldn't figure out which is the oven.

Another embarrassing thing that happened in Pharmaceutical Chemistry lab is due the word 'chui sam' (take off your clothes in cantonese). Yie Min said that he felt a bit heaty in the lab so I asked him to 'choi sam'. I pronounced it wrongly in front of a person who speaks cantonese from the day he was born (U Kin Fong). So embarrassing. He thought I was talking about 'choi sam' = 'cai xin' in chinese and of course he laughed at me. Yijia thought so too. She even commented on my canto. =( I know my canto is not good enough since I learned it from the Hong Kong drama and never practised it. Sorry lo~~
