Last Saturday, I received a text message from Fung (my high school friend) , asking me out for dinner in Northbridge. I was quite surprised to receive that message. We usually go out for yum-cha in Miri but we don't talk much to each other. He said that it's gonna be a small gathering among Mirians. Great. Kho drove me there. When we reached Northbridge, guess what? I only knew 2 out of 6 people standing outside the restaurant. John and Cody. None of the two are my close friends. I only meet up with John during the yum-cha session in Miri. As for Cody, we studied in the same primary school but he then moved to CH. So, we don't really know each other. There were 3 other girls that night. John introduced his girlfriend to me and Kho. We were quite shocked to know that they've been together for about 3 years. The other two girls. Hmm. We never talked to each other. Nobody even introduced them to me as well, expecting me to know them. Another guy (SC) was from CH. I don't know him as well. The weird thing is no one stood out to introduce themselves. Lol. Fung was late. We were all waiting for him (the organiser). I was either chatting with Kho or listening to the others talking. To be honest, I'm like another person in front of strangers. I would turn into a quiet person immediately. Well, I'm trying to talk a little bit more with strangers around now, just so that they won't think I have some difficulty to speak. When Fung arrived, we went to Kim Chee House. It was really dark in there that we could hardly see what we were ordering and eating. We then went for bubble tea after the dinner. I tried Easy Way's pearl milk tea and it's not nice at all. Perhaps it's because I'm not a big fan of pearl milk tea. I just wanted to try its top 5 drinks. To date, I've tried 2 out of 5. After that, we planned for a karaoke session. We walked to another place to sing k since some of them dislike Utopia (small rooms, you know) but it was fully booked. So, we had no other choice but to walk back to Utopia. Kho really can sing. I think he knows all the songs in this world. He's crazy. Ok. Now that I've paid for the K session, I must sing. Even when there are still some strangers around. So yea. I sang. I think John and SC realised that I'm really quiet that night. They keep asking me to choose some songs to sing. The thing is I can't remember those songs that I could sing everytime I'm there. I browsed the list of songs and picked some. That's all for the night. I guess the person who enjoyed the most was Kho. He got to eat a lot and showed us his singing skill.
Yi Tyeng went out for dinner with her auntie on the same night. I reached home later than her. We talked about our dinner and spent the rest of the night in my room chit-chatting. I even found a blog that specifically talks about food. I got hungry after looking at those photos posted in the blog. I didn't know why I was so excited that night that I didn't feel sleepy at all although it was already 3am. I can't remember what time I slept that night. Well, it was really a packed Saturday. YT said that I was a bit crazy because she was feeling really tired after such a packed day. (We went for grocery in the morning)
I had no class at all last Wednesday. I woke up early to book flights for my family. Then, I went to the city for lunch and some shopping. We went to have pancakes at Carillion. I prefer the one in Adelaide. =P
Siaw Tze and Claire Hsiu Li, me, Christy 5 of us outside Pancakes at CarillionI finally finished my first draft yesterday. So glad. I finished watching "Reunion Dinner" this morning. Happy ending. That's what everyone loves. It breaks my heart when I watched the scene where people start to abandon their parents after they've grown up. They don't even wanna spend some money on their parents even though they've earned millions. Some people say rich people are very stingy. Well, I kind of agree with that. No offence ya.
